Cheerful and pleasant, he's always up for a flirt or a long and indulgent conversation. Background
In in his youth, there was a great upheaval and a revolution that caused mass deaths and disappearances. Kennen's parents were among those who simply disappeared. Perhaps they chose to abandon their children out of necessity, or perhaps they died in one of the many violent outbursts that occurred during that time. Kennen's memories on the matter are unclear, given his young age at the time.
Whatever the reason for their disappearance, Kennen and his younger sister were left on the streets to fend for themselves, which inevitably led to a life of crime - pick pocketing, stealing from merchant stalls, and lifting valuables from rich homes. During the last of those, Kennen was caught mid-theft. Without any way to prove whether or not he'd stolen other high value items from the person in question and without parents of any kind, Kennen was sold off at market to pay off his debts. A particular noble woman determined he was pretty enough to be added to her valuables collection and purchased him immediately. Among other things, she had him tattooed both as a show of her high position and because she felt that it added to his natural beauty.
Over the 12 years he spent as her property, he became the noble woman's most favored possession, eventually moving from the slave quarters to hers. Many of the skills Kennen currently employs were honed during this time.
The noblewoman died abruptly when he was 22, and her properties were seized by her family. In the chaos following this, Kennen fled the household. As he possessed no marketable skills, the family showed very little interest in pursuing him. For that reason, in addition to the slave marking on his face, there was very little he could actually do even as a free man.
A certain place of business in a questionable part of the city elected to take him under contract due to his beauty and high level of compatibility with the business, and this is where he has both worked and resided since. The city itself has fallen on hard times, with very little coin to go around, but there always somehow manages to be enough to support his particular business. In exchange for room and board and relative freedom, he utilizes the skills learned from his noble mistress to make those who arrive at his door feel like nobility themselves for however long they stay.

- There's only so many delicate ways to say he is a whore. Man's a whore. A classy geisha kind, if you will. Women (and occasionally men) pay him for sex and seduction, and he's very good at it.
